Sony today announced that it is releasing software beta for PS5 and PS4 on Wednesday. This beta will add a number of new features, including a preview of enhanced voice command options. Other features include changes to the group chat options and updates to the Trophy UI.

Players who want to enable voice chat previews can do so from the settings menu. According to the PlayStation Blog, the preview enables “voice commands to find and open games, apps and settings, as well as control media playback on the PS5 console”. All you command is “Hey PlayStation!” Let’s start with!

Other updates to this beta include several changes to party chat functions. Sony renamed voice chats “Parties”. You can now have open or closed parties, which require an invitation to join later. Only beta users will be able to join open parties for a moment.

One of the most interesting changes is the update to the Trophy UI, which redesigns the trophy list and cards. Gamers can also mark up to five games or apps to keep on the home screen, so that they are not shuffled by other games. A major accessibility update is the addition of six languages to the screen reader.
